Presentation example of the digital files

A case night

Two hours. Five suspects. One name on the sheet.

This is how every case plays — the same method, a different mystery each time.

Friends around a table opening a case file 20:00

The file lands on the table

Lights down, one sealed folder, everyone leaning in.

  • Someone reads START HERE aloud
  • The case is set: who died, where, when
Players reading witness statements 20:30

Everyone takes a statement

Split the evidence — each player becomes the expert on one account.

  • Read it out, in character if you like
  • Mark anything that sounds rehearsed
An evidence board with red string 21:15

The red string goes up

Times, places and motives get connected across the table.

  • Line up every movement
  • Pin the times that clash
A player pointing at a clue 22:00

An alibi cracks

The moment the room goes quiet: one detail no longer fits.

  • A time that cannot be true
  • A record nobody checked
Players opening the sealed solution 22:30

Name the suspect. Break the seal.

Commit on the accusation sheet, then open the sealed solution together.

  • Everyone votes first
  • Then the truth — and the arguments

The top of a scene examination report Exhibit 02

Scene examination

The official report, filed the morning after.

  • Who examined the scene, and when
  • What was found — and what was missing
A printed witness statement Exhibit 09

Witness statement

Signed and dated by the person interviewed.

  • Compare every time with the records
  • Notice what they avoid saying
Photographs of the persons interviewed Exhibit 07

Persons interviewed

Everyone with a reason to be there.

  • Five people, five possible motives
  • Nobody is marked as guilty
A tagged physical exhibit Prod. 6

Physical evidence

Numbered productions with their exhibit tags.

  • Check where it was kept
  • Work out who could reach it
A register with handwritten times Exhibit 21

Registers and timetables

Times taken from records, not from memory.

  • Line up every movement
  • Find the minutes nobody explains
A torn handwritten note Exhibit 28

Handwritten note

Torn, folded and dated — still legible.

  • Read the times closely
  • Ask who wrote it, and for whom

The board

Five accounts. One of them is a lie.

Scroll and the connections draw themselves — the way an investigator would run string between the statements that cannot all be true.

Access & delivery

Before you open the file.

What exactly do I receive?
A complete investigative case file: the dossier, the evidence photographs, witness statements, suspect profiles, chronology material, maps, forensic documents, an accusation sheet, progressive hints and a sealed resolution file. Each case holds 30 to 36 numbered evidence documents.
Is Cold Case Press completely digital?
Yes. Every case is delivered as digital files. Nothing is shipped, and there is no postage or customs to wait for.
Do I need to install anything?
No. The files open in any standard PDF reader. There is no app, no account and no subscription.
Can I investigate alone?
Yes. Every case is written to work solo, with no host or moderator role. One to six people can work the same file.
Can I investigate with friends?
Yes. Print or share the statements, give everyone an accusation sheet, and compare conclusions at the end.
How long does a case take?
It depends entirely on how closely you read and how many people are at the table. There is no timer and no round structure — stop and return to it whenever you like.
